Copperplate is a form of calligraphic script dating back to the 18th Century. The elegant lettering and flourishes of this script belie the importance of writing slowly with careful attention to weight and stroke. The beauty of copperplate script is born through the practice and habit of slow, deliberate writing. The action of the pen is one of pressure-release. The end product results in lettering both fascinating and amusing to all who view it.
A complete and clearly typewritten or clearly printed list of addresses, along with at least 15% extra envelopes, is requested when an order is placed. If envelopes have linings, it is essential that the lining offer a degree of transparency; the envelopes are calligraphed using a lightbox. When necessary, envelopes are treated with an acrylic spray to prevent “bleeding” of the ink into the paper’s fibers. Orders are attended to promptly. Please phone to place an order.
