The weave structure for the Ruah Series is a twill. More specifically, it is a 4-shaft fancy twill that uses 6 treadles, or foot pedals, to weave pattern. Three colors are selected for the warp as well as using a few strands of a metallic yarn. The stole is woven with one weft color.
To customize your Handwoven stole, you may select your own colors from Handwork Specifications page.
The Priest Overlay Stole is sewn mitered at the back with an elegant chain for support at the neck. Standard length for the Priest Stole is 57" each side measured from back of neck. The Deacon Stole is sewn in the angled sash style with an elegant chain at the hip. The standard length for the Deacon Stole is 55" each side measured from the shoulder seam to the bottom of stole. Stole width for both styles is approximately 4 1/2" to 5". Stoles are woven using Jagger Spun yarns; fine quality yarns of 100% wool.
